About Victims Counselling and Support Service
Information, support and referral service for victims of crime and their families (non perpetrators), with emphasis on violent and serious crime. Provides counselling support, referrals to legal advice, specialised services such as support groups. Clients to ring in themselves directly, organisation does not require referrals. The aim is to promote the interests of victims and provide a professional empathic, supportive service to assist in recovery. Referrals to other services may include crime scene cleanup, witness assistance, victims' impact statements, crisis support and criminal compensation applications.
