About W.A. Cancer Palliative Care Network
This is a service offered for newly diagnosed cancer patients offer support and information for all ages. They are on the same site as the Albany Hospital in Nutrition House (due to confines of space). The WA Cancer and Palliative Care Network was established in 2006, one of several networks established by the Western Australian Department of Health. Clinical Networks are a group of interested people and organisations, including health professionals, patients, carers, consumers and others, coming together to talk, think, plan and develop health policy and services across the State. In our case it comprises all those with an interest in Cancer and/or Palliative Care.nBy forging working relationships between a broad range of people, Clinical Networks:nPlan better policy nEnsure better coordination and integration of services nIncrease participation, partnerships, communication and accountability across WA Health. This service is funded by WACHS and in part by The WA Cancer Council.
