About Western District Transition to Work

Aims to provide individualised care to people with disabilities leaving school that encourages them to increase their skills and independence and supports them to transition to paid employment or further training. Emphasis will be placed on work experience, with individual needs being addressed with prevovational programs including activities such as work ethics, traffic access and safety, budgeting, social/recreational activities and exercises etc. Where possible TTW will use activities and services offered within the wider community and are generally able to provide support and assistance on an average of 10-20 hours per week. Eligibility: people must reside in Bogan, Bourke, Brewarrina, Cobar, Warren, Unincorporated or Walgett LGAs, have a moderate to high disability, and be deemed to have a `capacity to work- as determined by DADHC-s assessment process. Application for DADHC TTW funding needs to be facilitated by the applicant-s school in their final year of high school.
