About Yarran Early Intervention Services - Home Based Program

Early intervention is provided through home visits to families with babies and very young children with developmental delays or disabilities. Visits are fortnightly. A trained teacher with considerable experience in both early childhood education and special education visit the families. Teacher and parent work together as partners. At each visit the teacher and parent play with child using a variety of toys and activities. Each child has an Individual Educational Plan, which describes the goals of that child's program. The Plan builds on the child's present strengths and helps to meet the existing needs. The teacher and parent discuss ways in which the needs of the family as well as the child can be met.
