I'm an unemployed Registered Nurse who has failed in getting positions over the past year. My husband is an ex-serviceman on a small super & a DVA pension. We have been struggling to make all financial commitments which we have tried to negotiate. We are working on selling our remaining investment properties which also weigh us down as we can't afford to keep them. We sold some to buy a home to live in & get rid of some debts but ended up with an exorbitant CGT bill to pay over 2 years. Our car has a lot of repairs required some of which haven't been paid for yet. We also need a replacement fridge as ours is over 25 years old & uses a lot of power. We had to replace our washing machine as it was over 25 years old too & broke down. It's on a loan as well. All our payments leave us with little money for food or fuel & we owe money on our last fuel fill. This fortnight we've run out of food until at least Thursday. Salvos couldn't help as their budget for this week was used.
