Administrative Decision Tribunal
Provides a cost effective and convenient way of obtaining administrative review of government decisions and of having complaints resolved. Decisions relating to the guardianship or financial management of people who lack capacity can also be reviewed by the Tribunal. It also inquires into complaints of discrimination, vilification, harassment and victimisation referred to it by the Anti-Discrimination Board; takes disciplinary action against some professional groups and hears retail lease claims. The ADT cannot review government decisions unless the law under which the decision is made permits it. It cannot resolve disputes with local councils. Eligibility: For administrative review - Anyone in NSW who has made a claim under an approved authority and is seeking a review. For other matters - The Tribunal can resolve some civil disputes relating to NSW laws and make determinations in relation to NSW professional discipline issues in accordance with specific statutory provisions.
