Dental Service Provides general and emergency dental treatment to pensioners, Health Care Card holders and their dependents older than Year 8 at school (school dental service see children Prep to Year 8). Appointments for healthcare and pension card holders are available as long as the client has been on our dental waiting list, this is approximately 16 months. Unfortunately this service is no longer free and a co-payment of up to $80 for general dental treatment is now required. This applies to 18 year old upwards who hold a current healthcare or pension card. Birth to Pre-School children, and young people aged between 15 and 18 years of age do not have to pay or go on a dental waiting list provided they are listed on their parents healthcare or pension card. Emergency dental appointments are available Monday to Friday between 9am - 5pm however a payment of $20 is required. People need to call 24 hours in advance.
