Australian Ventilator Users Network
Self help, support and advocacy group for people who use any form of mechanical ventilation for life support. The group suports people with disabilities resulting from polio, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis and spinal injury. Services provided - - peer support and counselling - information to ventilator users, community workers and the general public - fosters community awareness of the abilities, rights and needs of ventilator users - networks with support groups and disability organisations - undertakes individual advocacy on request and group advocacy where appropriate - works on developing appropriate support services which meet the diverse needs of ventilator users.
