Dental Service Provides general and emergency dental treatment to pensioners, Health Care Card holders and their dependents older than Year 8 at school (school dental service see children Prep to Year 8). Appointments for healthcare and pension card holders are available as long as the client has been on our dental waiting list, this is approximately 16 months. Unfortunately this service is no longer free and a co-payment of up to $80 for general dental treatment is now required. This applies to 18 year old upwards who hold a current healthcare or pension card. Birth to Pre-School children, and young people aged between 15 and 18 years of age do not have to pay or go on a dental waiting list provided they are listed on their parents healthcare or pension card. Emergency dental appointments are available Monday to Friday between 9am - 5pm however a payment of $20 is required. People need to call 24 hours in advance. I’m currently in treatment at canarven street and I have been working for over a year now and it’s difficult to get to the chemist on time and to see anyone at canarven street because of my work hours, I have been put on daily pick ups until 30/11/2022 when I do a test. This was changed from weekly to daily because I came in and did a sample and it wasn’t registering a temperature or anything in my sample including methadone which is impossible so my worker assumed that I was trying it on somehow and put me on daily pick ups. It was definitely a faulty test and because I didn’t hang around to do another one, she thought the worst, I understand why but I’m working away soon and I will need a 3-4 day take out but can’t get hold of my worker no matter how many messages I leave she is always busy and never calls me back so what can I do??? I’m working away in Belfast this month
