Ballarat Health Services - Medihotel
The Medihotel is a facility for people requiring supported overnight accommodation but do not require an inpatient acute hospital bed. For example a person may be required for an early acute care admission or the patient maybe traveling a considerable distance for extensive investigations or daily treatments. The Medihotel is located on the fourth floor of the administration building within the Base Hospital. It offers 10 single bedrooms with individual televisions and bathrooms. Seven rooms have a small lounge room attached that may be used by a carer or parent wishing to stay with a registered guest. Communal facilities include a sitting room, kitchen and dining area. Bookings are arranged by hospital staff and you can be referred by your GP or hospital staff prior to admission or during an acute care admission. All guests need to be self caring and self medicating.
