Bass and Flinders (RSL) Day Club
RSL Day Clubs are open to frail and elderly people both Veteran and non Veteran who may be socially isolated and meet the Day Club membership criteria. Members must not require lifting, must be able to feed, toilet and medicate independently and follow the club rules. The clubs are volunteer run and supported by the Dept of Veterans Affairs and the RSL. The clubs meet on Mondays between 10 am and 2 pm and encourage members to be more active, to socialise and to promote a sense of belonging. The program includes gentle exercise, mental stimulation, community entertainers and guest speakers, Table games, Quizzes and special events. Morning tea and lunch are included and each member pays a nominal fee to cover costs. Transport is available. The building is accessible for wheelchairs, but they cannot be transported on the bus. New members invited to come in with family/carer to see if they would be interested in joining.

Hello
My mum suffered a stroke in July and is currently in Woy Woy rehab centre. They’re hoping she’ll be home in 5/6 weeks. My dad is looking for someone to come in the mornings and evenings to help with mum. We are looking at between 4-6 hours per day. We’ll know more in 5/6 weeks as to the role itself but it’s standby assistance.
