Budawang is a Dept of Education training school for students, aged 4 - 18 years with intellectual disabilities and associated physical and emotional disabilities. An assessment is then carried out by the District School Counsellor and District Guidance Officer. Students are offered individualised educational programs in academic, living, leisure and vocational activities. Students have access to the latest computer technology. Parents and carers are involved in the establishment and maintenance of these programs, through individual educational plans. The school has an extensive excursion policy which emphasises the promotion of community integration and using the student's local community facilities such as the library, swimming pool. The school has its own minibus.
