Care Awaiting Placement(CAP) - Murray District Hospital
Murray District Hospital has 28-beds and is basically a medical ward for patients referred from GPs and public hospitals. No surgical procedures done at this hospital. Murray Hospital have x4 CAP beds and x2 Respite beds(no dementia patients). The Care Awaiting Placement Programme is designed to temporarily accommodate and care for frail aged people waiting for permanent residential placement. Priority is given to patients in acute teaching hospitals.They must be ACAT assessed and wait-listed for permanent residency at x3 ACFs.The programme is for 9-12 weeks only. Services/Facilities: Care Awaiting Placement . Medical, General . Occupational Therapy . Palliative Care . Physiotherapy . Radiology . Respite Care . Speech Therapy. This is a non-ACAT facility.They will not accept patients with dementia who wander.

Allied health services (listed separately - Naturaliste Health communities) are contracted from the Health Centre based directly across the road from hospital. 2 bed private hospice attached to hospital, respite available for palliative clients - calls can be directed to hospital number and will be put through.

I'm in a really bad situation atm . I recently had to move because my dad who I was caring for 10 years had to go into aged care .
I had nowhere to go with my dog and luckily someone I barely know let me rent a room off him in Powelltown, Vic .
I don't drive and it's an 18km walk just to get to a bus stop that is still Ages away from most things .
My centerlink has been cut off because I couldnt attend a job provider appointment due to it being so far and I haven't had any food for 5 days now.
There is a local food relief place that gives Me a few fresh vegetables every Friday but they didn't come today and it's only a few fruit and veg which is not very nourishing on an empty stomach . They only come on Fridays when they can .
