The Southern Transition Care Service is operated by Carinya of Bicton and provides a total of 50 flexible places (residential and community),which is located in Bicton based at Carinya on Bristol site. This service is primarily for older patients living in the South Metropolitan Area. Carinya Annexe - Care Awaiting Placement In conjunction with Fremantle Hospital, Carinya of Bicton co-ordinates a Care Awaiting Placement unit for 30 residents waiting for a Nursing Home of their choice. Located at 41 Bristol Avenue, the site of the original Carinya Nursing Home, the Carinya Annexe has been operating since January 2001 and is successful in alleviating the pressure on acute hospital beds and also provides an insight into the nursing home environment for the residents.
