Carlton Family Resource Centre
Provides family counselling, information and referral, advocacy, crisis support, personal and social support, behaviour management and parenting skills. Family Support groups include catering specifically for women and members of the Vietnamese, Somalian and Ethiopian ethnic communities. The maternal and child health nurse monitors child health and development. Social and recreational activities are provided for infants and preschool children 0 to 6 years old and their parents or carers. Various holiday programs for primary school children 5 to 12 years old. A service for children up to 5 years old with disabilities and other special needs. The service includes individual and group programs for children with special needs in kindergartens, child care centres and at home. Support for families from the African ethnic community who are experiencing stress. Groups for infants and preschool children and their families from the African ethnic community.
