Community Care Services - Central Coast Ltd - In Home Respite Care Service

In Home Respite is auspiced by Community Care - Central Coast Ltd. The service offers a break to families or carers of people with dementia or a related disorder. A Co-ordinator will visit the client and do an assessment before respite is arranged. The In Home Respite carer can either stay in the home with the client to give the carer a break, or if the clients' mobility allows it the In Home carer may take the client for a drive. Care can be provided weekly, fortnightly or monthly on a regular basis. The service is provided by Assistants in Nursing who have specialised training and experience in managing difficult behaviour. The service can be used, weekdays, evenings, overnight or at weekends. Clients are asked to contribute a minimal amount for care.

Hello, I am a mum of two small children aged 1 and 3. I have been thinking of the value of community and would love to reach out to the older generation who may be missing their family or not have any. I'm not sure how to go about it. I'd love to take some time to visit or meet with a group of friendly people . I think it might bring some joy to some and my children will have the benefit of getting to know a different generation.
