Social Workers in Community Health: . assess and analyse social and health needs of diverse communities and implement and evaluate programs to meet needs; . initiate and contribute to the development of innovative health policy; . provide a casework service to individuals with complex needs, both short and long term, drawing on a range of therapeutic strategies; . initiate, plan and co-ordinate group work, community development and health promotion; and . act in a consultative and educative role to community and health workers and organisations on the social aspects of health.
