Community Visitors Scheme - Australian Red Cross
The Community Visitors Scheme is a volunteer program providing one to one visits to a resident of an Aged Care Facility who may be socially isolated or would benefit by having a regular visit from the same volunteer. The visitors can spend time of social interaction in a variety of ways eg: chatting, reading, board games, music, outings if appropriate etc. but not in care work. The service operates in regional and rural areas of WA (NOT METRO) where volunteers are available and no other funded service already operates the CVS. Updated September 2008
