Cootharinga Society of North Queensland - Respite for Older Carers of Children with Disabilities Program

Provides a program specifically targetting Carers who are aged over 60 years (priority will be given to carers over 65 years with a son/daughter over the age of 40); caring for a son/daughter 25 years or older with a profound or severe disability (priority will be given to carers with a son/daughter over the age of 40). Carers must also be receiving a Carer Allowance from Centrelink; reside with their son/daughter for whom they provide care, have provided care for a significant period of time, and their son/daughter must be receiving the Disability Support Pension.

I had a very tough year the last few months I had to watch my mother slowly die from breast cancer, been struggling since mums passing before I turned 50. My family doesn't talk to me after mother passed been a lot of other things on my mind in regards to my immediate family. I feel so lost and lonely don't see anything to live for even though I've got 4 grown kids and 4 grandchildren still I can't feel anything any more for anyone. I need help please
