Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) HomeFront
HomeFront program: a falls and accident prevention program. Offers a free annual home assessment to identify potential falls hazards in and around the house and referral to approved tradespersons to carry out any recommended work. DVA pays a subsidy each calendar year towards the cost of recommended items and modifications. Veterans are not obligated to go ahead with the recommendations. If they go ahead, they are responsible for paying the difference between the full cost and the subsidy, if any.
