Dept of Ageing Disability & Home Care (DADHC) - Attendant Care Program
The Attendant Care program is administered by the Dept of Ageing Disability and Home Care, and provides paid attendants to assist with personal care tasks and related domestic assistance. Assistance is primarily provided within the home, however the program does permit the provision of service at other locations. The maximum amount of care provided is 34 hours per week. Eligible applicants must have a physical disability, be of working age (16 to 64), live in a nursing home or long term hospital bed or be at risk of being placed in one, and the program must be the applicant's only long term living option. The applicant must be able to manage within a cap of 34 hours of support per week and have the capacity to direct their carers. People whose disability results in a serious cognitive deficit are not likely to be able to live in the community with 34 hours of care per week and thus will not be eligible. There may be fees when deemed necessary by service providers.

Hi i'm a 34 year old pensioner with a disability I have recently been a victim of family violence. I have 3 children. My 10yo lizard was fed to my dogs as well as all my food in the cupboard, my front door was kicked in so currently has no door knob and can't be locked, my daughter was terrorizes where he stood in her room with a knife and all our clothing and most bedding was cut up. I have spoken to centrelink who cannot help me because the perpetrators address wasn't mine, I have tried welfare agencies who for the past 3 days have been full by the time I get through on the phone and no one seems to be concerned or worried about the after effects. If anyone can please help please let me know.
