Dept of Ageing, Disability & Home Care (DADHC) Metro South East - Emergency Response
Formerly the Service Access System (SAS), Emergency Response is an interim program of last resort to assist anyone who is at risk of physical threat or abuse, the loss of independence or homelessness. After dialling the aforementioned phone number and then completing an application, the applicant is assigned a case manager who (provided eligibility criteria is met) will work to meet the needs of the applicant. Assistance may be provided in the form of a long term plan or a one off offer of support with the goal of assisting the person out of a crisis. Examples include the provision of a predetermined amount of in-home domestic support. Note that family members, other service providers, case managers etc. may assist with the completion of the application.
