Education and Development Association - Community Visitors Scheme
The Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) matches volunteer visitors with individual nursing home and hostel residents. Residents and visitors are individually matched, ensuring close compatibility in personality, interests and backgrounds. For example, a visitor with an interest in football will be matched as closely as possible to a resident with compatible interests. The Education and Development Association coordinates visits to four aged care facilities in the Eastern Suburbs in the South East Sydney area and one in the Inner West. Where there is no CVS within an aged care facility Education and Development Association can assist is establishing one.
