If Homeswest accommodation is not available they may be able to provide interest free loans for the bond of a private rental property (eligibility criteria apply). Great Southern Community Housing manages about 92 properties of varying types from one bed units to 2-3-4- bed t/houses and family houses built by the State Housing Commission under Homeswest and Public Works and Housing Dept .They also manage different housing programmes where there are an allocated number of houses for each program - Independent Living Program for Mentally Ill clients( 37 houses) ; Youth housing has 11 allocated houses ; and the disabled have 8 allocated houses. Generally GSCH oversees housing for low income earners and people with special needs. Housing is only available in Albany. Application form should be completed as soon as possible. Interview and statement of income required when property becomes available.There is a wait list.
