Dental Service Provides general and emergency dental treatment to pensioners, Health Care Card holders and their dependents older than Year 8 at school (school dental service see children Prep to Year 8). Appointments for healthcare and pension card holders are available as long as the client has been on our dental waiting list, this is approximately 16 months. Unfortunately this service is no longer free and a co-payment of up to $80 for general dental treatment is now required. This applies to 18 year old upwards who hold a current healthcare or pension card. Birth to Pre-School children, and young people aged between 15 and 18 years of age do not have to pay or go on a dental waiting list provided they are listed on their parents healthcare or pension card. Emergency dental appointments are available Monday to Friday between 9am - 5pm however a payment of $20 is required. People need to call 24 hours in advance. Hi i'm a 34 year old pensioner with a disability I have recently been a victim of family violence. I have 3 children. My 10yo lizard was fed to my dogs as well as all my food in the cupboard, my front door was kicked in so currently has no door knob and can't be locked, my daughter was terrorizes where he stood in her room with a knife and all our clothing and most bedding was cut up. I have spoken to centrelink who cannot help me because the perpetrators address wasn't mine, I have tried welfare agencies who for the past 3 days have been full by the time I get through on the phone and no one seems to be concerned or worried about the after effects. If anyone can please help please let me know.

I am currently on Newstart and after rent and phone credit I have under $100 to live on for a fortnight. I've been managing to hang in there for a few months but its now bee almost 4 weeks with nothing but bread to eat. I can't afford to get to any organisation to get food parcel.
