GROW Tasmania
GROW is a community of persons working towards mental health through mutual help and a 12 step program of recovery. Small groups of people who have experienced depression, anxiety or other mental or emotional distress come together on a weekly basis to help each other deal with the challenges of life. Some people come to GROW while struggling with the loss of a job, a loved one or a relationship. Groups meet regularly at Glenorchy and Hobart.

Lifelink Samaritans has been listening to and caring for lonely, distressed and suicidal people in the community since 1968. Trained and life-experienced befrienders give callers time to reflect on their troubles and re-order their priorities, discussing personal options which their deep seated worries had not previously allowed them to see. This vital and empathic service is provided freely, in confidence and without judgement or personal prejudice. Callers sometimes find family and friends are not able to cope and listen without imposing these on the discussion. and it can be safer and more empowering for YOU to speak with an independent listener at Lifelink Samaritans in your moments of confusion and great need.
