This is a 57 bed low care facility that requires an ACAT assessment for low care. This facility offers respite and is dementia secure. Situated in Emu Point, Albany, Gwen Hardie Lodge offers 57 beds including a secure 20- bed unit to provide care for people with dementia. Gwen Hardie Lodge offers single rooms with their own en-suite in a cosy, home like setting. Qualified nurses are on staff at all times and meals are cooked fresh on site daily. The menu is planned in consultation with the cook and a dietician who oversees the implementation and quality auditing of the food service. Health professionals, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and podiatrists are also available to residents if required. A hairdresser attends the facility on a weekly basis.

A local GP visits every week ; There is nursing support through the hospital and residents have regular visits to the podiatrist at the hospital ; Therapy assessments are done by a visiting OT; Local churches hold regular services ; Hairdresser visits weekly ; and there is volunteer support from community members . Aged Care Assessment Team (Northam) Referrals from a Medical Practitioner and the Aged Care Assessment Team are required for entry to Dryandra.
