Home Education Respiratory Rehabilitation Service (HERRS)

Clients who have a proven diagnosis of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease are able to access this comprehensive service provided by the Respiratory Liaison Nurse. The Home Education Respiratory Service keeps in contact with clients local doctor, respiratory physician and other community services. The Respiratory Liaison Nurse will see clients in their own home or at their nearest health centre. Carers and family members may be present at the interview. The benefits are: potential to improve clients level of function, improve quality of life for sufferers and carers, increases client's and carer's skills and knowledge in management of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, maintains independence, referrals to appropriate community services and support for clients and carers from the Respiratory Community Nursing Team
