This program supports and assists relatives and friends who are caring for people at home who, for reasons such as chronic illness, stress, frailty and disability, are unable to care for themselves. 1800 059 059 is a 24hr emergency contact for carers in crisis. The service also provides information and referral on nursing homes/hostels/emergency respite vacancies. Information and advice on non-English speaking backgrounds hostels/nursing homes etc and referrals to permanent respite services.
