Krowathunkooloong Keeping Place
The Krowathunkooloong Keeping Place, Aboriginal Cultural Museum in Bairnsdale aims to raise cultural awareness of the Gunai/Kurnai people of Gippsland and East Gippsland and to help visitors understand Aboriginal history and culture. The Keeping Place offers an in-depth look at Aboriginal people of the Gunai/Kurnai before and after European settlement. Displays include shields with traditional markings, boomerangs, bark canoes, baskets and an exhibition of local contemporary Aboriginal art and craft.
