The aim of Maitland IDEAS is to ensure equal opportunity of access within the Maitland Local Government area for people with a disability. Membership of consists of people with disabilities, members of the community who represent people with a disability, council staff who have responsibilities in the areas of design engineering , planning, and customer service. Councils community services section resource the panel. The overall outcome of the work is the improvement to local built,environment by council owners, builders and members, developers and members of the general community. This includes equal access to local facilities, open spaces and parks and accommodation. Members of the community, either on their own behalf or as a an advocate for another person or group, are encouraged to raise issued regarding access within the Maitland area to the attention of Maitland Ideas.

Hello
My mum suffered a stroke in July and is currently in Woy Woy rehab centre. They’re hoping she’ll be home in 5/6 weeks. My dad is looking for someone to come in the mornings and evenings to help with mum. We are looking at between 4-6 hours per day. We’ll know more in 5/6 weeks as to the role itself but it’s standby assistance.
