The office of the Anti-Discrimination Commissioner provides an impartial, accessible and timely process for dealing with complaints alleging discrimination and prohibited conduct. The Anti-Discrimination Commissioner is a statutory officer appointed by the Attorney-general to administer the Tasmanian Anti-Discrimination Act 1998. The Act prohibits discrimination against any person on the basis of any attribute/ground prescribed by the Act. The Act also prohibits sexual harassment, prohibited conduct, inciting hatred and victimisation.
