Prince Of Wales Hospital - Mental Health Services - Inpatient Unit

The Inpatient Unit has both general and observation wards and offers supervised care in hospital when community treatment is not possible. Individuals are admitted to the observation ward when they have a mental illness or disorder that needs to be treated to stabilise their mental state. The unit offers education and support to consumers and their families during their hospital isolation, and also provides activity programs and occupational therapy. Consumers are admitted to the observation ward when they are severely troubled by the symptoms of mental illness and they need close observation and frequent monitoring. When the consumers mental state has stabilised, they are transferred to the general ward.

Hello, I am a mum of two small children aged 1 and 3. I have been thinking of the value of community and would love to reach out to the older generation who may be missing their family or not have any. I'm not sure how to go about it. I'd love to take some time to visit or meet with a group of friendly people . I think it might bring some joy to some and my children will have the benefit of getting to know a different generation.
