ROPES (Reaching Out To People In Emotional Stress) is a support group for people over 35, promoting mental health in the community. ROPES provides support for people experiencing emotional stress (such as depression, being housebound, isolation, or low self esteem), develops self-understanding and mutual understanding, fostering mutual support and re-orientation of members. The group provides in-house social contact and activities.

Lifelink Samaritans has been listening to and caring for lonely, distressed and suicidal people in the community since 1968. Trained and life-experienced befrienders give callers time to reflect on their troubles and re-order their priorities, discussing personal options which their deep seated worries had not previously allowed them to see. This vital and empathic service is provided freely, in confidence and without judgement or personal prejudice. Callers sometimes find family and friends are not able to cope and listen without imposing these on the discussion. and it can be safer and more empowering for YOU to speak with an independent listener at Lifelink Samaritans in your moments of confusion and great need.

My name is Robert, I’ve experienced family domestic violent. Sadly I have a big injury in my back disk due to been assaulted and bashed by 6 x Police officers on the
20-11-2020. I haven’t been working, I’m receiving Centrelink job seeker. I got kicked out from the family house that I was paying mortgage for. Ive been homeless and leaving in a motel, I did approach Housing Department and thank god and thanks to them that they have offered me a 1 bedroom until which im hoping to move into it next week. Sadly I can’t afford to buy some of the furniture for the unit , jI’m wondering if your company would be able to help me out ?
