Safe Community Action Team (SCAT)
Community development project aimed at implementing and developing strategies that will allow people in the Wollongong area to be safer and feel safer in public places. Looks to secure grants and government funding for crime prevention projects. Works with older people to find out what they need to make them feel safe. Produces crime prevention material. Developing local government guidelines for building and planning policies which will reduce crime. Consists of representatives from a wide range of community and industry organisations. Wollongong/Shellharbour area.
