The Sandgate Community Centre grew from the need for a common community meeting place in Sandgate. Services include Voices of Hope (Domestic Violence Support Group), Sandgate Garden Group and Young Mums Group, Older Women's Network. Numeracy and Literacy courses, Crafty Capers, Unplugged Cafe (first Friday of the month), Book Club, Tai ChiMondays 10am Coffee Club, Wednesdays Community Cafe. CFH addresses the health and well being of children and families in the Bundaberg District. CFH nursing and allied health professionals provide education and support for parents, within group sessions, growth and development and relevant parenting information are included in discussion. Growth and development of children are assessed at regular intervals. Referrals made when problems detected. A lactation consultant is available for breastfeeding concerns every Tuesday afternoon and Friday. CFH is actively involved in health promotion and is willing to provide information on any issue relating to the health of children and adolescents up to 18 years of age.
