The Shire is located in the centre of the Western Australian Wheatbelt and covers an area of 3,368 square kilometres. The localities within the Shire are Ballidu, East Ballidu, West Ballidu, Burakin, Cadoux, Kondut, Lake Hinds, Lake Ninan, Mocardy and Wongan Hills. The Shire Administration Centre and Depot are located in Wongan Hills. A wide range of medical services is available to the community. The community has access to a doctor, dentist and numerous supporting specialists who visit the area on a regular basis. The Hospital can offer a number of services and the staff are more than willing to assist you with your individual needs. The Shire has good transport and telecommunications connections with regular bus services to and from Perth and a mobile telephone network covering most parts of the Shire. The service is available to all members of the Mt Marshall community and also encourages the surrounding districts to take advantage of assistance to individuals and community groups.
