State Member for Sydney
A Member of the Legislative Assembly works locally for the individuals, organisations and businesses in the area represented. The Member deals with many requests for help with matters such as housing, transport, local councils, environmental issues, youth and community services, the police, and water and sewerage rates. Matters outside the power of State Government are referred to other agencies who may be able to help. During the day, in the evenings and at weekends Members hold and attend meetings and functions relating to the community, schools, business organisations, charities and social or sporting clubs. The principal suburbs of Sydney are the City of Sydney and parts of Woollahra. The electorate of "Bligh" will be renamed Sydney" from March 2007 election, and the boundaries will change - see www.clovermoore.com/bligh/.
