The Patient Travel Subsidy Scheme
Patients need to apply from their local Hospital/clinic. Provides direct assistance to patients and in some cases their carers to enable them to access specialist medical services from which they are isolated. Financial assistance for transport to Hospital or specialist appointments. The medical service for which the patient is applying for the subsidy must be classified as essential, and the service is not within 50 kilometres of the nearest public hospital and closest of it's kind.
