Uniting Care Miraga
Uniting Care Miraga currently has government funding for 47 Aboriginal-specific Community Aged Care Packages and 14 EACH packages (5 Aboriginal Specific, 6 Non-Aboriginal Specific, 3 Dementia Specific) in the local region (including Broken Hill, Ivanhoe and Menindee). Service delivery is 7 days per week. A Day Care Centre operates on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 am to 2 pm (gold coin donation). Activities include card games, bingo and general companionship. Lunch can be provided and transport is available to and from the Centre. Monthly outings are also provided.

My mum suffered a stroke in July and is currently in Woy Woy rehab centre. They’re hoping she’ll be home in 5/6 weeks. My dad is looking for someone to come in the mornings and evenings to help with mum. We are looking at between 4-6 hours per day. We’ll know more in 5/6 weeks as to the role itself but it’s standby assistance.
