U3A is a self-help, non-profit, adult learning movement based on the University of the 3rd Age that began in France in 1971. The 3rd Age is when we have reached an age where we may be retired but remain active. Australia now has more than 1130 U3As. Activities: art, book discussion, bridge, computing current affairs, socialising, gardening, glass painting, genealogy, line dancing, mahjong photography, reflexology.
