ACLC is an independent, non profit organisation contracted by the Federal Government to provide community legal service . ACLC delivers legal services in Lower Great Southern including Mt Barker (every 2nd Friday) and Denmark (every 2nd Weds). Staff travel regularly to Katanning on 1st & 3rd Fridays of the month. Will also visit Gnowangerup by request. Any person is allowed one visit but an ongoing service is restricted to Concession card holders(Health Care Card/Pension Card), low income and other disadvantaged groups or individuals. Appointments are imperative. Service available :- Wills, Enduring Power of Attorney, Family Law, Civil Law, Minor Criminal. Note that mediation, not counselling, is offered. Anyone can have an appointment providing there is no conflict. ACLC will provide home/hospital visits to eligible clients.

The Centre offers a dispute resolution/mediation service to all members of the public. Issues include disagreements between neighbours, spousal issues, workplace disputes and tenancy matters.

The "Pathways to Prevention Project" provides early intervention support to families of pre school aged children (4 - 12 years) attending target schools. Casework (individual and family, Youth programs 8-16 years counselling), group work (parent support and playgroups), and family support activities. Triple P parenting program. Specific programs for Indigenous, Vietnamese & Samoan families, with workers speaking these languages, including playgroup & family support. Sessions for growth - grief and loss for youth. Social skills programs in participating schools. Target Schools are Inala, Inala West, Richlands East State School, Serviceton South State School, Durack State School, Wandarrah Pre School, St. Mark's and Carole Park State School. Transport can be arranged. This is a joint venture between Mission Australia and Griffith University.

Community Justice Centres provide free mediation and conflict management services to help people resolve their own disputes. Mediators assist people to identify the issues, ways to resolve th issues, think of their options and work together to reach an agreement. Mediation helps people find their own solution. Information available in languages other then English. Meeting times need to fit in with opening hours of court as meetings are held at court house.
