Australian Hearing is a Commonwealth Statutory Authority dedicated to helping people manage hearing impairment to improve their quality of life. Provides a full range of hearing services exclusively to pensioners, most war veterans and children under 21 years, most of which are fully subsidised by the Government. Service also visits Nambucca Heads by appointment at the Senior Citizens Centre in Kemp Street and Grafton on alternative Fridays for hearing aid repairs at the Community Centre in Duke Street.

Formerly Laubman and Pank Hearing Services. Hearing life is the largest network of retail hearing care outlets in Australia. An accredited Audiometrist provides hearing tests and hearing aids. Also provides workplace screenings for hearing. In addition to providing custom-made hearing aids, we also stock a wide range of hearing accessories including infra-red headphones and musicians' ear plugs. Hearing aid tests are free for eligible pensioners. Fully accredited to supply Australian Government subsidised services to pensioners and veterans. The service assesses a person's hearing and discusses individual needs, working together with the person to see if a hearing aid would be suitable. A wide range of hearing products are available. If a person is unable to travel to the centre, they should contact the centre to discuss the possibility of a home visit. They also have on site centres at The Entrance, Kincumber, Erina and Woy Woy phone the above number for further details. The service also provides a prompt repair and exchange service, including battery replacement. The service can also provide specialist support for children, in addition there is also an advice and counselling service to assist people in adjusting to their hearing impairment. The Commonwealth Hearing Services Program has a Top Up Arrangement where client may choose to be fitted with a hearing aid with additional features.

Australian Hearing provides subsidised hearing services to Pension Concession Card holders. Services include hearing assessment, hearing aid fitting and repairing, and hearing rehabilitation. This is one of 94 clinics across Australia. If unable to access a clinic, call to discuss the possibility of a home visit for which a referral will be needed. Services are free. A maintenance fee of $36.75 will apply. For those who do not meet the eligibility criteria, call the Office of Hearing Services on 1800 500 726 to get information on private providers.
