Australian Organ Donor Register (AODR)
TAS, Australia
The Australian Organ Donor Register (the Donor Register) is the national organ and tissue donor register for transplantation. It records people's intentions on organ and tissue donation and can be accessed by authorised medical personnel, who have signed confidentiality agreements, anywhere in Australia seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. In the event or your death, information about your wish can be obtained from the Donor Register and provided to your family. Being on the Donor Register is your guarantee that your intentions regarding organ and tissue donation are recorded and accessible. Entry onto the Donor Register is voluntary. Individuals can record their intention to donate (or their intention not to donate) using a registration form. The registration form is available in Medicare offices, by calling 1800 777 203 (free call) or can be downloaded from the Medicare website.
