Community Aids and Equipment Program -CAEP

The Community Aids and Equipment Program (CAEP) is a sub program of the Disability Services Commission and funds the purchase of aids and equipment for eligible people with a long-term disability. The program aims to make it easier to obtain aids and equipment throughout the State on a fair and equal basis. There is a standard list of aids and equipment available under the program. Only items on this list can be provided through CAEP. The types of equipment available include: Mobility e.g. wheelchairs; Seating e.g. inserts and modified chairs; Positioning e.g. positioning boards and wedges; Walking aids e.g., walking frames; Orthoses e.g. splints, surgical footwear; Prostheses e.g. mammary prostheses, wigs; Transfer aids e.g. hoists and transfer boards; Bed equipment e.g. Bed rails; Personal Care items e.g. Commodes; Home Modification and Installations Communication e.g. Switches and devices.
