Other Activities include: Social outings, creative arts, and education. Clinical Therapy program. Links to support groups - Schizophrenia Fellowship and ARAFMI (Association of Relatives and Friends of the Mentally Ill). The latter group supports the needs of the family especially in terms of education. There is no cost for day rehabilitation programs. Lunch can be provided $2.50 - $3.00 (available 5 days only). Helping Hands volunteer program - links volunteers to clients in the community - to improve living and social skills.
Visit supplier >CARS provides multidisciplinary rehabilitation programs following illness, injury or surgery and an amputee program. Clients are typically of working age. The service aims to help people return to the community with the best possible quality of life. CARS is staffed by professional staff including: medical staff, nursing staff, social worker, speech pathologist, dietitian, clinical psycologist, occupational therapists, physiotherapists (including hydrotherapy), neuropsychologist and recreational therapist. Discharge planning looks at all the possible ongoing needs that each client may have and ensures that arrangements are made with local community support services and local medical practitioners, as appropriate, prior to discharge. Provides inpatient and outpatient services. Links with Ryde Aged Care Rehab Service.
