This service is linked with the Friendly Visiting Network and focusses on elder people with Dutch speaking background from either The Netherlands or the former Dutch East Indies (now known as Indonesia). The Dutch Helpline provides general Dutch specific information (in the Dutch Language if necessary). Referals can be from self or other agencies and can aid in the referal to other agencies and assists with the completion of forms or directs to appropriate chanels.

Gold Coast Silver Cord Telephone Reasurrance Service Provides daily security calls to check on the safety and wellbeing of clients. A security process is activated in the case of an emergency. Friendship calls are provided between 1 and 3 times a week for a friendly, supportive chat. Silver Cord does not provide counselling.

Telecross is a free service provided by the Aust. Red Cross. Every morning clients receive a short friendly phone call between 8am and 9am . The service is a security blanket - if there is no answer a second call is made. If there is no response or if the client seeks help an emergency response procedure is activated by Red Cross and emergency assistance is arranged if necessary. Telecross is available for those in our community who may need a helping hand. People who live alone, are disabled, ill , isolated, frail aged or medically at risk. Anyone who might benefit from a daily phone call to combat their isolation is welcome to apply. Red cross is committed to making sure everybody feels they are an important part of our society.
