The Independent Living Centre of WA is a community based equipment information and advisory resource service . ILC does not sell equipment, but does have a Hire Service with specialist equipment that may assist individuals and organisations with short-term needs or for trial purposes. Country callers 1800 800 523. The Mobile Information and Display Unit travels statewide to extend the services of the Perth based ILC to people in rural and remote communities. Their health professionals, including Occupational Therapists offer specialist information and advice on thousands of products. The 500 items of selected equipment on display from electric scooters, wheelchairs, walking aids to special keyboards and software for computer access etc to personal care and continence management, pressure care and transfer aids and much more.

The Kalparrin Centre is a drop-in Centre for families of children with special needs. It is situated in the grounds of PMH and is a place where families can get information and support related to their child's condition. Kalparrin is a South Australian aboriginal word which means& help carry the load. This also includes parents whose children do not attend PMH. The Centre is open to any family member of a child with a disability or special needs regardless of degree of severity or type of impairment. Staff and volunteers of the Centre understand the issues involved in caring for children with special needs and are always available to share experiences, offer support and provide information. The centre has a comprehensive collection of directories and contact points for support groups, and community organisations that maybe of value to you or your family.
