Care Awaiting Placement(CAP) - Murray District Hospital

Murray District Hospital has 28-beds and is basically a medical ward for patients referred from GPs and public hospitals. No surgical procedures done at this hospital. Murray Hospital have x4 CAP beds and x2 Respite beds(no dementia patients). The Care Awaiting Placement Programme is designed to temporarily accommodate and care for frail aged people waiting for permanent residential placement. Priority is given to patients in acute teaching hospitals.They must be ACAT assessed and wait-listed for permanent residency at x3 ACFs.The programme is for 9-12 weeks only. This is a non-ACAT facility.They will not accept patients with dementia who wander.
