Rehabilitation programme for post-acute medical patients .There are 12 beds in the public ward and is run by Dr John Kitchin, Head of Geriatric Medicine at Peel Health Campus.Aims to provide short-term care that is related to improving the health status and independence of the patient. Mainly the elderly with fractured femurs and CVAs. A range of health professionals available to enable transition into independent living.

Murray District Hospital has 28-beds and is basically a medical ward for patients referred from GPs and public hospitals. No surgical procedures done at this hospital. Murray Hospital have x4 CAP beds and x2 Respite beds(no dementia patients). The Care Awaiting Placement Programme is designed to temporarily accommodate and care for frail aged people waiting for permanent residential placement. Priority is given to patients in acute teaching hospitals.They must be ACAT assessed and wait-listed for permanent residency at x3 ACFs.The programme is for 9-12 weeks only.
