The Westcoast Community Learning Centre was established in 1993 with a seed grant for equipment from the combined councils of Cottesloe, Mosman Park, Peppermint Grove and Claremont. Incorporated as Wearne Community Centre in 1994, the name was changed to Westcoast Community Centre in 2001 to overcome confusion with Wearne Hostel.
